Provinces in Canada and Immigration

There is a common myth about Canadian immigration that some provinces in Canada are easier to migrate then others. However, this is not true.

You can migrate into any province as long as you fulfil all the criteria of the Provincial Nominee Program you are partaking in. you can get more obvious and specific if you have a job offer in any particular province, but not otherwise or if you have not even entered any provinces in Canada.

Finding a PNP is easy for a common person. You can select the right option depending on your situation, as well as your skills and the experience you offer in any specific field specially when it caters the need of the local labour market. Apart from Nunavut and Quebec, almost every region in Canada have their own PNP- specific streams. Each pathway is constructed to meet the demands of that province and are intended for a particular crowd of people, be it skilled, unskilled workers, entrepreneurs or students from abroad.

In total there are almost 80 unique PNP streams across Canada aside from the federal and Quebec streams. Any provincial nomination from an enhanced PNP stream related to EES, awards an extra of 600 points towards one’s Comprehensive Ranking System score. And earning these points basically guarantees an invitation from Canadian government for permanent citizenship.

Situations where you can still apply for any of the options available

If you do not have a job offer, you can still apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. OINP Human Capital Priorities is one of the most popular streams. The stream has three Express Entry linked categories and has been actively inviting immigrant candidates this year. Although you do not need a job offer, you do however need to have an active Express Entry profile, and job experience to be considered for this program.

If you can speak French fluently, you can try PNPs that call for bilingual applicants. OINP’s Express Entry linked French Speaking Skilled Workers PNP lets the province search for applicants with strong French verbal skills as well as fluent English, among other criteria. The stream mentioned above has been active for past 6 months closing in at about 700 invites by now.

If you are a tech worker, you can go for PNP pathways operated by provinces of British Columbia and Ontario. Ontario periodically conducts Tech draws within the Ontario express Entry linked Human Capital Priority Stream. These draws require applicants having one of the six designated technological occupations, such as computer engineers and web designers. No job offer is required.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, Skilled Worker in Manitoba and many more similar streams acknowledge skilled workers having worked in Manitoba as well as had an educational experience. These streams are for people who have experience in the province or the territory or are privileged.

Express Entry draws are Canada’s top programs in sending invites to immigrants to step into Canada. They are set for play increasingly high profile roles in immigration level plans between this year and 2022. Combined with PNPs c, Canada’s express entry programs account for almost half of the Canada’s newcomer’s intake. This is said to increase with the time as even with pandemic caused travel restrictions on Canada, these programs are still inviting people from all over.
